The society that cultivates the illustrious mediaeval history of Zurich’s Fraumünster ladies convent is delighted to be invited to the guild parade in 2011 for the first time.
It is especially pleasing that the invitation by Zurich’s Guildmaster and the “Constaffelherr” has been extended in recognition of the cultural and public commitment of the “Gesellschaft zu Fraumünster”, its independent activities (in particular its mediaeval market) and the way it has organised its own separate parade to date. Thus the efforts by the Gesellschaft zu Fraumünster for equivalent treatment of its society at the guilds’ prestigious spring festivities have culminated in a solution that is satisfactory for all parties.
In 2011, the Gesellschaft will takes its place in the official parade behind one of the three guilds that traditionally lead the procession (Kämbel, Weggen or Wiedikon).
